Indiana Central News A suspect has been arrested after an alleged armed robbery on the south side of the city that left two victims with minor injuries early this morning. Justin Tyler, 24, of Terre Haute, was booked into the Vigo County Jail just before 11 a.m., where he is charged with armed robbery and obstruction of justice. The Terre Haute Police Department investigation revealed that the two victims, a male and a female, were at the 7th and Elm Bar, when they were approached by the black male seeking a ride at about 2:30 a.m., Public Information Officer Ryan Adamson explained. The victims reportedly agreed and then transported the suspect to the intersection of South Fourth and Oak Streets, when the suspect struck them with handguns upon arrival to his destination. "Justin pulled out two pistols and 'pistol whipped' both victims," Adamson said, adding that he then fled into another vehicle. According to the report, the victims initially sought help at the Indiana State University Police Department. THPD officers were able to locate Tyler at North Third and Chestnut Streets. The investigation is ongoing. Call the Terre Haute Police Department at 812-238-1661 with any information regarding the case. Tips may also be submitted on the department’s Facebook, via messenger.
