A suspect driving an allegedly stolen vehicle led Terre Haute Police on a lengthy chase last weekend, before his arrest.
Thomas J. Bolton, 40, of Terre Haute, was booked into the Vigo County Jail Saturday. He is charged with auto theft, resisting law enforcement and driving while suspended-prior. The chase began at Ninth and Locust Streets and ended in West Terre Haute. “After a lengthy pursuit, the vehicle went off the roadway into a cornfield in West Terre Haute. The driver fled on foot and was captured by officers,”Assistant Chief Shawn Keen said. Reportedly, the officer noticed a green Kia Spectra matching the description of a stolen vehicle at Ninth and Locust Streets, around 8 p.m. Bolten did not stop when the officer activated his emergency lights and siren, after confirming the vehicle was reported stolen by a check of the license plate, Keen said.
