The Terre Haute Police Department is seeking an allegedly armed and dangerous suspect after a woman was reportedly battered with a crowbar and strangled by her ex - boyfriend early this morning.
George DeYoung Jr. is wanted on a warrant for his arrest. He is facing the following charges: Burglary- a level 2 felony; criminal confinement- a level 3 felony; battery by means of a deadly weapon - a Level 5 felony; strangulation- a level 6 felony; two counts of pointing a firearm - a level 6 felony; and stalking- a level 4 felony. Officers responded to the scene at the woman's N. 15th Street residence after the victim called saying the suspect forced entry into her home and then battered her with a crowbar and strangled her while armed with a gun, Sgt. Denzil Lewis said, noting the suspect had fled the scene upon police arrival. The victim was transported to an area hospital and was treated and released. Lewis described the suspect's vehicle as an older model black GMC Denali with a ladder rack and possibly a yellow light on top. Anyone having any information on DeYoung should contact the police immediately. He is believed to be armed with a handgun and dangerous. Comments are closed.
