Indiana Central News A teenager was hospitalized after being struck by vehicle in Prairieton last night. Jacob McDaniel, 18, of Praireton was transported to a Terre Haute hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries. The driver, Gayle Baker, 55, of Robinson, Ill., was not injured. No citations were issued. Indiana State Police Sgt. Joe Watts said the victim was being treated for lacerations, contusions and observation. His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening. ISP and other emergency crews responded to the scene on SR 63 near Murphy Street around 10 p.m. McDaniel was reportedly walking southbound along SR 63 when he was suddenly struck by the southbound 2012 Hyundai. The night conditions may have been a factor in the incident. "Very light rain, the dark of night, pedestrian wearing dark clothing and the location of McDaniel in or near the roadway are still under investigation by Indiana State Police crash reconstructionists," Watts explained.
