Indiana Central News A Terre Haute man is facing child molesting charges following a Vigo County Sheriff's Office investigation. Kyle Wyatt, 32, listed as being homeless, was booked into the Vigo County Jail Thursday afternoon. He is charged with two counts of child molesting and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. According to the probable cause affidavit, filed by Detective Jason Fischer, the investigation began Jan. 17, when a 13-year-old girl reported the allegations. The victim reportedly lives in a home with her relatives, where the incident allegedly took place. The suspect was the boyfriend of a family member of the victim's at the time, and also was staying in the home. He allegedly text messaged the girl from another room in the home and asked her if she wanted to "hang out," while the others in the home were sleeping. After the suspect allegedly encouraged her to drink three or four shots of an alcoholic beverage from a paper cup, she began to feel the effects of the drinks and stated she eventually fell asleep. A short time later, she remembers being awakened by the suspect inappropriately touching her body. According to the court documents, Wyatt allegedly began touching her private area , under her shorts and underwear, as he held up his cell phone with the flashlight activated. After allegedly performing oral sex on her and then rubbing his body against hers, he left the room. The girl called her mother on the phone at this time, to report the incident. The relatives in the home kicked Wyatt out immediately upon learning of the incident. Wyatt is scheduled to appear in Div. 1 Superior Court tomorrow. He remains held in the jail on $75,000 bond, with no 10 percent allowed. Comments are closed.
