Indiana Central News A Terre Haute man is in jail on multiple charges of child molestation after two teenaged boys, related to him, allege ongoing and inappropriate touching. William R. “Billy” Friede, 35, was arrested on a warrant and tranported to the Vigo County Jail Monday around 12:30 p.m. He is charged with six counts of level 4 child molesting. Police say Friede allegedly molested two boys, now teenagers, at separate times. The first victim’s mother was told about the alleged incident in August and reported it to police. Friede allegedly molested the boy when he was around 9, in the summer of 2017. The boy, now 12, was regularly entrusted in the care of the suspect, as the boy's mother worked. According to the probable cause affidavit, filed by Det. Donald Toney, of the Terre Haute Police Department, the victim alleges the inappropriate touching usually occurred as he was trying to sleep on the couch at Friede's residence. He alleges that “William touched his private and made [the victim] touch William’s private,” the documents state. In May, another young victim came forward with similar allegations -- reportedly happening during the same time frame, according to the court documents. The report was made just after the second victim's mother found out about the allegations. Det. Sanford Scott was assigned the case. Now 13-years-old, the second victim alleges, “For a while now, [the suspect] has been touching him,” according to the documents. In fact, he stated that the sexual abuse began back when he was 7 or 8. Friede allegedly would bribe the boy with money or other things. The last alleged incident with the second victim occurred when he was 12, last June. Friede allegedly came into his bedroom and got on the bed with him while the child was playing video games. He appeared to be drunk and began wrestling with the boy, then allegedly touched his penis. Friede denies the allegations. He remains held in the jail on $75,000 bond, no 10 percent allowed and is scheduled to appear in Vigo Superior Court 1 July 3 before Judge John Roach. Comments are closed.
