Indiana Central News A Terre Haute man led city police on a chase in an allegedly stolen vehicle that ended in southern Vigo County this morning. Nicholas A. Guyton, 30, was booked into the Vigo County Jail at about 10:15 a.m. He is charged with: Possession of marijuana, two counts of neglect of a dependant, felony resisting law enforcement, motor vehicle theft and was also wanted on an arrest warrant for fraud. The black Ford pick-up truck was reported stolen from a business at South Third Street and Davis Avenue. Terre Haute Police Department Public Information Oficer Ryan Adamson explained that officers initially located the stolen vehicle in the area of South 25th Street and Margaret Avenue. The driver then fled the area in the pick-up, leading officers on a pursuit. Guyton was taken into custody when he eventually was stopped at Gross Road and Singhurst Road. A female passenger in the vehicle was released at the scene. Police also discovered two children in the vehicle at that time. "It was found that there were two small children in the vehicle at the time of the pursuit, which was unbeknownst to officers. The children were not hurt, however were checked out by medical personnel just to be safe," Adamson said. Vigo County Sheriff’s Office and the Riley Fire Department assisted at the scene.
