Thornton C. Richardson, 76, of Terre Haute,, was transported to a local hospital with complaints of abdominal pain after a morning crash with a semi-truck this morning.
Vigo County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to U.S. 41 and S. Seventh Street for a motor vehicle crash with injuries at 6:15 a.m. According to the report, a 1999 Ford van driven by RIchardson had stopped at the stop sign located at Old Royce Road. before attempting to turn south onto U.S. 41. Chief Deputy John Moats explained that as Richardson turned south, he pulled into the path of a 2000 International semi-truck with a fully loaded trailer driven by William C. Woolery, 59, of Brazil. " Woolery was unable to avoid the collision and struck the van on the front driver’s side door area," Moats said, noting that both parties were wearing seatbelts and no citations were issued. Honey Creek Fire and Medic 92 assisted at the scene. Comments are closed.
