Indiana Central News A crash on the city's east side claimed the life of a Terre Haute man early Christmas morning. Cody Swart, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene after crashing his vehicle near Fruitridge Avenue and Hulman Street around 4 a.m. The Terre Haute Police Department has not released additional information on the single-vehicle accident. Meanwhile, friends have family have posted sentimental messages on social media regarding how special his memory is to them. They also shared photos and posted songs to his public Facebook page, on which he had indicated that he had worked at North American Lighting in Paris, Ill. and formerly was employed at Sony in Terre Haute. According to the Facebook page, he had attended Terre Haute South Vigo High School. Pat Trilby wrote: He was such a good father, friend and co-worker. Had a great outlook on life and excellent work ethic. I know I will see you again my friend. You be missed more than anyone knows. I am honored to call you and Cam my friends. Rest easy. Kathy Johnson wrote: Thank you for being YOU, for always being able to make us laugh when our work day would get rough, knowing when others needed a smile & loving your family and friends the way that you did. Keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers 💜 We will miss you my friend. Zachariah Hoke wrote: Like my grandmother always told me, you never know when your last day on Earth will be.
