By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News VERMILLION COUNTY -- A Terre Haute man wanted on a Vigo County warrant for using counterfeit money to purchase goods and services was arrested in Vermillion County on similar charges after officials say he used fake money to buy a game system. Dontae S. Bensahri, 22, was booked into the Vermillion County Jail and charged with counterfeiting - or using counterfeit money and theft. According to the Vermillion County Sheriff's Office report, The suspect had arranged to purchase a Playstation 4 and components from the seller on "LetGo," an online application. They met in Clinton at the Walmart parking lot Thursday. The suspect fled the scene with the items when the owner of the Playstation confronted him about the suspicious bills he used in the transaction. Deputies Nick Hall and Chad Hennis were able to identify Bensahri with information provided by the victim, including a license plate number. Bensahri was taken into custody after agreeing to meet with the victim again under pretense to get his money back. The Clinton Police Department assisted in the investigation. Comments are closed.
