![]() UPDATE see story Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly confronted a man and took his belongings at gunpoint last night. Officers of the Terre Haute Police Department responded to the reported armed robbery that occurred near the intersection of Fifth and Swan Streets at around 9 p.m.. According to Sgt. Michael Elllerman, the victim stated that he was walking to a friend’s house through that area, when he encountered another subject walking toward him. "The victim said that as he was passing the suspect on the sidewalk that he suddenly grabbed the victim’s duffle bag that he was carrying and a brief struggle ensued. The suspect then pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the victim," Ellerman said. "The victim said he let go of his bag and fled away from the suspect. The suspect fled the area with the victim’s duffle bag and it’s contents." The victim described that the suspect was a black male, wearing dark clothing and a stocking cap. He was is about 6-feet, 6-inches tall and being of an athletic build.
