Indiana Central News A Terre Haute man was arrested following a Vigo County Sheriff's Office investigation after a healthcare worker was allegedly threatened at his residence in the southern part of the county. Gary A. Diana, 55, was booked into the Vigo County Jail around 10:30 a.m. today after officers conducted a traffic stop. He was taken into custody without incident, and did possess weapons on his person at that time. The Vigo Co. Sheriff’s Office then served a search warrant at 936 E. Sunset Pike Drive , located just south of Springhill Drive, around 2 p.m. According to Lt. Brian DeHart of the VCSO, the investigation revealed numerous weapons along with highly explosive material. The Indiana State Police EOD team, FBI and ATF assisted at the scene. The public was asked to stay away from the area, as the roadway was blocked off around the residence. At the scene, Sheriff Greg Ewing said the man had a large gun collection -- as experts sorted through the rifles and other items in the garage area. "Right now we are removing all of the firearms under the 'Red Flag Law,' because there is a question of his mental stability at this time." Ewing said. The department was aware the suspect kept numerous weapons at the residence, as they have received several reports on the situation. Comments are closed.
