News Writer Indiana Central News A Terre Haute man was arrested on multiple charges folowing a lengthy police pursuit that ended east of Brazil early Thursday morning. William H. Leonard, 26, was booked into the Vigo County Jail around 2:45 a.m. He is charged with resisting law enforcement (felony), possession of a syringe, possession of paraphernalia, driving while suspended and operator never licensed. Terre Haute Police Department officers initiated a traffic stop on the suspect's vehicle near S. 11th and Hulman Streets around 1 a.m. Multiple law enforcement agencies assisted in the pursuit, which ultimately ended in rural Clay County,east of Great Dane manufacturing, in the area of US 40 and CR 400 E. According to scanner traffic, Leonard disregarded officers and fled in the car, eastbound. He disregarded traffic signals and reached speeds exceeding 80 MPH as he headed out of the county on SR 42.
