Indiana Central News A Terre Haute man was arrested after crashing his pickup truck into a building while fleeing from police late last night.
John J. Cummins, 52, was booked into the Vigo County Jail around 1:15 a.m. He is charged with resisting law enforcement, reckless driving and operating while intoxicated. He remains held with no bond and is scheduled to appear in courtt this morning.
According to scanner traffic, the suspect fled from Terre Haute Police Department officers during a traffic stop near S. Seventh and Voorhees Streets, just after 11 p.m. As he quickly turned into an alley near a church east of the intersection, he crashed his white pickup truck into the side of the building, striking a gas line. Terre Haute Fire Deparment crews were dispatched to the scene regarding a possible gas leak. Comments are closed.
