![]() By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News A man caught in the middle of a federal investigation is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Terre Haute Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent Mark Thompson's death has been ruled a suicide , according to Vigo County Coroner Susan Amos this afternoon. Chief Deputy John Moats reported this morning that the death was under investigation by the Vigo County Sheriff's Office, prior to the coroner's report. Thompson was reportedly found dead in his pick-up truck by a family member, parked in rural Vigo County last night, near Lewis. On July 19, FBI agents raided the wastewater plant and were seen loading up several boxes of items into a truck. A recent New Jersey lawsuit against a contractor in Illinois regarding past sludge-related contracts accuses Thompson and city officials of corrupt activity during past Powerdyne dealings. City officials have denied wrongdoing and Thompson was suspended with pay in a decision made by the Terre Haute Sanitary Board this week. The multi-million dollar wastewater treatment plant is located on SR 63. --- See related story See related story See related story Comments are closed.
