![]() By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News A Terre Haute woman was arrested Tuesday night after police say she stabbed her boyfriend during a fight at their northside apartment. Jensen L. Kelch, 29, was booked into the Vigo County Jail around 8:30 p.m. She is charged with domestic battery with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony. She was released the following day, pending a scheduled June 5 hearing. Terre Haute Police Department officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Maple Avenue on a report of a domestic situation with an injured male victim. Upon arrival, officers observed the man had suffered a cut to his face, where Kelch allegedly stabbed him with a knife just below his right eye. Kelch reportedly admitted to stabbing her boyfriend during an argument after sex. According to the probable cause affidavit, the two had been having sex, when Kelch abruptly stopped, randomly going to cook something for them and a neighbor in another apartment unit. When her boyfriend became angry --yelling and throwing things at her -- she allegedly went to get a knife. Kelch alleges her boyfriend "attacked" her and she then threatened to cut him. Her boyfriend reportedly was able to get the knife away from her during the incident. She then allegedly retrieved another knife. The two had been living together for about three months before the incident. Although they had been in multiple fights throughout their relationship, this was the first time her boyfriend had been injured in one of their altercations, according to the court documents.
