--- By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News A father and daughter duo were arrested early Saturday morning after a fight ended in a shooting and stabbing in Terre Haute.
Police responded to the 1300 block of S. Eighth Street on a report of a shooting and stabbing around 9 p.m. Friday. The suspects and the shooting victim's girlfriend had reportedly fled the area in a white Chrysler 300 with dark tinted windows. Royss Ellis was located a short time later at Eighth Street and Washington Avenue. He suffered from a stabbing wound to the back. The victim, Josh Ping, 35, had been shot twice, according to the probable cause affidavit, filed by Detective Keith Mowbray, of the Terre Haute Police Department. Ping stated that he and his girlfriend, Briella Ellis -- the daughter of Ellis, had been arguing. Briella Ellis allegedly went into a rage earlier in the evening. She had called someone to come and get her and then began breaking things in the bedroom with a baseball bat, according to the court documents. Royss Ellis, accompanied by an unknown white male, was let into the residence after a knock at the door and began arguing with the victim. He allegedly ordered the other to person shoot Ping. A shot was fired, striking Ping in the abdomen. Ping told officers that he was then physically attacked by Ellis and resorted to stabbing him in self-defense. The shooter fired another shot, striking Ping in the leg. The suspects then fled from the scene. The shooter has not been identified at this time. Both Ellis' remain held in the jail. Briella Ellis is set to appear in Div. 4 Court today. Royss Ellis is scheduled to appear in Div. 6 Court Thursday. Comments are closed.
