Three suspects were booked into the Vigo County Jail yesterday and two others into a juvenile detention facility for their alleged involvement in an altercation after a cell phone theft and burglary at a southside residence yesterday. Robert L. Huckle, 20, is charged with burglary (felony); Ashley N. Plant, 18, is charged with burglary (felony); and Dalton J. Pitts, 18, is charged with criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon (felony) and resisting law enforcement (misdemeanor.) The suspects are scheduled to appear in Division 1 Court today. Investigation revealed that there were three separate incidents that had occurred at the residence during the past 24 hours: A theft of a cell phone, a burglary to a residence and an altercation between several individuals. Detectives reportedly found two juveniles, including the suspect from the initial alleged cell phone theft, hiding in the attic of the house. The juveniles were taken into custody for allegedly resisting law enforcement charges. One juvenile suspect was reportedly determined to be an escapee from a Knox Co. Juvenile Facility. According to Terre Haute Police Department Sgt. Michael Ellerman, members of the Terre Haute Police Department responded to 1415 S. 9th St. on a report of a gunshot victim just after 4 p.m. Officers had responded to the address earlier in the day, at about 2:45 p.m., for the report of a burglary. "Once on scene officers determined that the subject had been shot multiple times with a BB gun and his injuries were not life-threatening. Officers secured the scene and all witnesses and parties involved and called for investigators and technicians to come to the scene," Ellerman said today. This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call the Terre Haute Police Department at 812-238-1661. Comments are closed.
