Indiana Central News It's been a month since Rico Spillers, 22, was arrested on a domestic battery warrant. Since his release from custody of the Vigo County Jail after a couple days that time, Terre Haute Police say he has continued to harass the female victim-- and, as a result, has been incarcerated again. Spillers arrested again by THPD officers on Monday on a warrant and booked into the Vigo County Jail at around 5 p.m. He is charged with the following: Burglary, domestic battery, two counts of invasion of privacy and criminal confinement. Spillers reportedly became combative when THPD officers attempted to take him into custody, and he was additionally charged with battery against a public safety officer and resisting law enforcement. "Spillers kicked, attempted to bite, and spit in several officers faces while they were attempting to arrest him," Public Information Officer Ryan Adamson said. According to Adamson, the latest warrant stems from an incident in which Spillers allegedly broke into the victim’s apartment and waited for her to get home on Feb. 7. When the woman returned home with her 2 - year- old child, she found Spillers sitting in the apartment. "Mr. Spillers took the victim’s car keys, cell phone, and refused to let her leave the apartment. After about five hours Mr. Spillers ordered the victim and her child into her car. Mr. Spillers then drove at a high rate of speed to Margaret Housing, where he exited the vehicle," Adamson said, noting that the victim then called police to report incident. Adamson urges victims of domestic battery to report abuse. Comments are closed.
