UPDATE 8/9/19--
Anthony J. Williams, 47, Terre Haute was booked into the Vigo County Jail Aug. 7 in connection to the shooting. He is charged with: Battery or BBW committed with a deadly weapon, battery resulting in bodily injury to endangered adult, criminal recklessness while armed with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon. -- By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News One man was hospitalized after being shot by another man near the intersection of N. 6 1/2 Street and Third Avenue this morning in Terre Haute. The extent of the victim's injuries are unknown at this time; however, police say he was able to walk a short distance to the area of the ISU/IU Landsbaum Center for Health Education around 9 a.m., while the suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction of travel, according to a university press release. Because of the close proximity of the incident to campus, ISU Police issued an alert to students. ISU Police described the suspect as a black male, last seen wearing a red shirt. The suspect vehicle is a green Ford F-150 pickup truck. The Terre Haute Police Department is investigating the report of the shooting. Investigators remained at the scene for several hours. THPD has not issued information on the shooting at this time. More information will be provided once it becomes available. Comments are closed.
