![]() The Terre Haute Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred on the north side early this morning. The suspect was wearing a "gorilla" mask at the time of the robbery and displayed a handgun, according to Public Information Officer Ryan Adamson. Upon arrival at the Marathon gas station located at 1301 Fort Harrison at about 2:30 a.m., uniformed officers immediately created a perimeter to attempt a k9 search for the suspect, Adamson said. "The k9 search was ultimately unsuccessful," he said. Officers were reportedly informed by the clerk that the suspect is thought to be a white male, 5- foot, 7-inches to 5-foot, 8- inches tall. The suspect is described as having a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and gray sweat pants. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.
