By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News The Terre Haute Police Department is investigating a crash involving a Vigo County School Corp. bus this morning which occurred during a two-hour school delay that was called for weather-related reasons. Information is limited due to the age of the victims; However, at least four students reported injuries at the scene of the two-vehicle crash.and were transported to a local hospital for non life-threatening injuries. .Emergency crews were dispatched to the intersection of S. 19th and Warren Streets after a gold SUV crashed into the bus around 9:20 a.m., according to scanner traffic. The bus was traveling southbound on S.19th Street when the eastbound teen driver reportedly failed to stop his SUV at the Warren Street stop sign due to ice on the roadway. THPD Public Information Officer Ryan Adamson said the teen fled from the crash scene on foot before crews arrived. "[The juvenile] ran home after the crash, but was located and cited for leaving the scene of an accident, no insurance and no driver’s license," Adamson said. VCSC officials were at the scene, including Superintendent Dr. Danny Tanoos and Director of Security Tom Balitewicz. Terre Haute Fire Department assisted at the scene. Comments are closed.
