THPD investigating overnight shooting that injured one

The Terre Haute Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured one male teenager as he was driving on the city's south side early Monday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the scene at Warren Street, near S. 19th Street, just before 1 a.m.

According to scanner traffic, the 16-year-old driver appeared to suffer a gunshot wound to the shoulder and was bleeding from his mouth.  The victim reportedly stated he did not know who shot at him and his vehicle.

​The white Mercedes passenger car back window was shot out in the incident.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of the gunshot wound. His  condition is not available at this time.

Officers are canvasing the neighborhood at the time of this report. The investigation is ongoing.
