THPD investigating stabbing

The Terre Haute Police Department is investigating a stabbing after the victim called for help from a local gas station Wednesday evening.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the Thorton's gas station, located just in front of Haute City Center mall on S. Third Street, around 7:20 p.m.

According to scanner traffic, a white male suspect allegedly stabbed a black male victim.

The incident reportedly took place behind the Econo-Lodge motel, near the gas station. Officers reportedly found a knife in a trash can at the scene.

Officers are questioning a possible suspect; meanwhile, the stabbing remains under investigation at this time.

The THPD has not released information on the case.
