-- By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News Terre Haute Police Department is investigating a report of a pipe bomb on the city's north side today. Officers responded to a report of the pipe bomb near the intersection of North 16th Street and Seventh Avenue this afternoon. Meanwhile, some surrounding homes have been evacuated and streets blocked off to traffic while the investigation continues. The device reportedly was placed in front of a small white passenger car parked on the street. Chief John Plasse said the device appears to be a small homemade pipe bomb and Indiana State Police bomb squad was enroute to the scene around 1 p.m. He asks for the public's help in the investigation, especially if they noticed someone drop off an item in the roadway.
