Indiana Central News When a 2-month-old baby required medical treatement for serious injuries suffered while in the care of family last Friday, hospital officials notified local law enforcement. Malachi Akemon,20, of Lexington, Ind., was booked into the Vigo County Jail last night around 7 p.m. He is charged with two felony counts of neglect of a dependent resulting in bodily injury. According to Terre Haute Police Department Public Information Officer Ryan Adamson, the father of the infant, Akemon, initially sought medical care at a Terre Haute area hospital for his daughter due to her bleeding from the mouth and nose. The infant was then transported to an Indianapolis area hospital due to various injuries, he said. "Riley Children’s hospital then contacted the Terre Haute Police Department due to the suspicion of abuse," Adamson said. Comments are closed.
