The driver of the vehicle police have since recovered from the Wabash River, Tammy Henderson, 46, is facing a charge related to the incident and is scheduled to appear in court when she is released from the hospital.
The Terre Haute woman was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries suffered when she allegedly drove her Jeep into the water at Fairbanks Park Friday night. A summons has reportedly been issued for the suspect to appear in Vigo County Division 5 Court when she is released from medical care, where she is charged with misdemeanor operating while intoxicated. "Members of the Indiana State Police Dive Team and investigators from the Terre Haute Police Department returned to Fairbanks park on Saturday April 16, and the vehicle, a white Jeep Grand Cherokee, was safely removed from the river that morning," THPD Sgt. Michael Ellerman said today, adding that probable cause was found for the arrest of Henderson. -- See related story Comments are closed.
