UPDATE- The victim reportedly is an employee of the Burger King on Wabash Ave., where he was shot in the parking lot while on break by a robbery suspect last night. The suspect(s) had fled the scene prior to officers' arrival.
-- By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News One person was transported to a local hospital after police say he was shot in the leg during a robbery attempt at a fast food restaurant parking lot on Terre Haute's east side tonight.
Terre Haute Police Department officers responded to Burger King at 3087 Wabash Avenue on a report of shots fired around 9 p.m.
Details are limited at this time, including a description of suspect and suspect vehicle. However, a spokesman for the THPD said the male victim suffered a gunshot wound to one leg. His injuries are not believed to be life - threatening. Indiana State Police assisted in a search of the area, conducting a K9 search of the area from Brown Avenue to S. 25th Street and including the large field at Meadows Elementary School, just behind the restaurant.
