By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News A woman was arrested after police responded to a report of gunshots fired on Terre Haute's north side late last night. Jasmine D. Jones, 23, of Terre Haute , was booked into the Vigo County Jail at 12:45 a.m. She is charged with battery by bodily waste, criminal recklessness, intimidation and carrying a handgun without a license. Terre Haute Police Department officers at the scene took Jones and one other female into custody around 10:45 p.m. after arriving at the residence at 1420 First Avenue. Officers told Indiana Central News it was an active crime scene as they placed police tape around the front area of the home. No injuries were reported. Neighbors stated that a witness saw a car driving past when she was heard yelling and firing gunshots. Other neighbors said they heard one female suspect yell ," If you want to turn me in to welfare, I'll give you a good reason." And that is when they said they heard the shots fired. According to Public Information Officer Ryan Adamson, Jones threw the handgun down on the sidewalk when officers located her, causing it to discharge another shot. She reportedly was very angry at the officers, shouting obsenities and allegedly spit on a K9. Indiana State Police assisted at the scene. Comments are closed.
