Indiana Central News The Terre Haute Police Department is investigating a series of reports of gunshots fired on the city's south side in the past two days, along with a shooting on the north side --- resulting in one female and one male victim suffering injuries in the separate incidents. Yesterday, just after midnight, officers responded to a residence at 1647 S Fourth St. in reference to shots fired. According to Public Information Officer Ryan Adamson, a crowd gathered at a party held by Indiana State University students. It ended with gunshots being fired inside and outside of the house, he said. "A female victim told police that she was a block away from the house when she noticed a 'sharp pain' and 'blood'. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment," Adamson explained. He noted that officials are not sure whether the victim was shot, or punctured by another object. Those calls about the ISU student party came hours before a driver was struck in his head by gunfire, causing him to wreck his vehicle into an elementary school on North Sixth Street last night. He was also hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries. More shots were reportedly fired at other locations early this morning. At 4:30 a.m., THPD officers responded to South Third and Oak Streets. Officers were investigating the area of the Rodeway Inn. "Upon arrival it was found that there had been shots fired at several different locations, however it is believe that they are all connected," Adamson said. The investigations are ongoing. Contact the THPD with information on the cases by phone, or on on Twitter/Facebook. -- SEE related story Comments are closed.
