Detectives of the Terre Haute Police Department executed an arrest warrant today for the third and final suspect allegedly involved in a southside gas station armed robbery in late July.
Clifford A Simmons, 33, was booked into the Vigo County Jail at about 11 a.m. He is charged with for armed robbery- a level 3 felony; robbery resulting in bodily injury- a level 3 felony; and conspiracy to commit armed robbery- a level 3 felony. Detectives found the suspect at 224 S. 15th St. "Detectives were able to locate Clifford Simmons hiding in the basement next to a bed under some covers," Sgt. Denzil Lewis said, noting another person was arrested at the house as well. ![]()
Savannah I. Blair, 28, was arrested today in the residence by detectives for false informing - a class A misdemeanor; obstruction of justice- a level 6 felony; and assisting a criminal- a level 6 felony.
Both defendants were transported to the Vigo County jail where they await court appearances, Lewis said. On the morning the Jiffy Mini Mart robbery was reported, July 28, officers were able to locate the first suspect - Delta Terrell, 41, attempting to hide in a tree row just after a recent armed robbery at Jiffy Mini Mart at South 13th and Poplar Streets. Terrell was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries she incurred during her arrest. She was booked into the Vigo County Jail July 30, where she was charged with armed robbery- a level 3 felony; robbery resulting in bodily injury- a level 3 felony; conspiracy to commit armed robbery- a level 3 felony; and striking a law enforcement animal - a class A misdemeanor. The attendant reportedly informed officers the two males distracted the attendant while the female, Terrell, went behind the counter. Terrell then allegedly took an undisclosed amount of money and attempted to flee. .One of the male suspect allegedly pulled out a knife. The three individuals fled from the scene Two male suspects were not initially located. Detectives of the Terre Haute Police Departments violent crimes unit were assigned the recent Jiffy Mini Mart armed robbery case on Aug.1. Detectives reviewed the video and were able to identify the other two males allegedly involved in the robbery. Detectives located one of the male suspects, Michael Kays, 19, at his residence Aug.1. Kays was arrested and charged with armed robbery -a level 3 felony; robbery resulting in bodily injury -a level 3 felony; and conspiracy to commit armed robbery - a level 3 felony.
