UPDATE 1/29/18- Body found in vehicle has been positvely identified as missing Terre Haute woman Alice "Anita" Oswald, officials say. No further information on cause of death disclosed at this time.
--- By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News The missing person case involving 77-year-old Alice “Anita' Oswald – missing since early November --- has now become a homicide investigation, officials of the Terre Haute Police Department said, after a dead body was found inside her submerged SUV Friday. Yesterday, Vigo County Coroner Dr. Susan Amos completed an autopsy on the body of the dead woman recovered from the lake in rural southeastern Vigo County. The identity remains unconfirmed at this time, pending DNA testing -- which could take several weeks to complete. The manner of death has not been released at this time. Multiple agencies worked to pull the burgandy Honda CRV from beneath 10-inches of ice covering the water.
