PUTNAM COUNTY – A Terre Haute man was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop in Putnam County last night that netted a large amount of marijuana/ hash oil cartridges packed inside a tote.
Ashaun Miller, 22, was booked into the Putnam County Jail and charged with dealing marijuana hash/oil - a Class A misdemeanor; possession of paraphernalia - a Class C misdemeanor; and possession of marijuana - a Class B misdemeanor. The traffic stop was initiated due to the driver of the black Toyota SUV allegedly failing to dim the headlights while on his way back to Terre Haute from Indianapolis on US 40. The Indiana State Police trooper observed criminal indicators and could smell of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle while speaking with the suspect, according to Sgt. Matt Ames, noting that the trooper found 200 vials of marijuana/hash oil in a tote in the suspect's back seat during a subsequent search of the vehicle. Trooper Austin Fowler stopped the westbound black Toyota SUV, on US 40 near CR 750 S, at about 9:45 p.m. Miller reportedly gave consent for a search of the SUV. Trooper James Crisp assisted at the scene. Comments are closed.
