![]() A driver was transported to a Terre Haute hospital for treatment of injuries after a crash with a semi-truck in Vigo County this afternoon. Indiana State Police and other agencies responded to the car versus tractor-trailer crash in the southbound lanes of SR 63 at Pennington Road at around 4:20 p.m. According to ISP Sgt. Joe Watts, a white 2007 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Karlie R. Timmerman, 22, of Paris, Ill., was eastbound on Pennington Road and failed to yield the right of way to a southbound tractor-trailer, driven by Jason M. Combs, 41, of Elkart. "The Malibu then struck the right rear tires of the flatbed trailer, spinning the Malibu into the guardrail," Watts explained, adding that Timmerman was extricated by emergency crews and transported to a hospital by Riley Fire/Rescue EMS. The injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Combs was not injured or cited. Timmerman was not cited, but the investigation is ongoing, he said. The tractor-trailer was operated under Chief Carriers of Grand Island, Nebraska. The crash was investigated by ISP Sergeant Joe Rutledge. Assisting were ISP Master Trooper Jason Owen, Trooper Ted Robertson, and Sergeant Joe Watts, New Goshen Fire/Rescue, and Riley Fire/EMS. Comments are closed.
