Indiana Central News A man and woman were arrested this week on allegations of sharing drugs with and sexually abusing their minor granddaughter following a Vigo County Sheriff's Office investigation. Barbara J. Day, 53, and her husband, David E. Day, 57, were booked into the Vigo County Jail Wednesday around 8 p.m. Barbara faces a charge of incest in addition to the charges that she and David both face, including: Vicarious sexual gratification, sexual misconduct with a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of paraphernalia. According to the probable cause affidavit filed by Det. Josh Cary, of the VCSO, the 15-year-old girl informed investigators that she and her younger brother had gone to spend the night with the suspects at their northern Vigo County residence May 18. At one point in the night, the girl reportedly came out of a bathroom and was invited to smoke marijuana with the couple in their bedroom, while they smoked methamphetamine, Cary states in the court documents. The suspects allegedly began behaving in a sexual manner in front of the teen, according to the documents. "Victim reported that her grandparents began 'going at it," before directing her to join in. The sexual acts included the grandparents allegedly performing oral sex on the victim and the victim reporting that she in turn performed oral sex on the woman before the victim allegedly had sexual intercourse with the man. He used a condom, according to the report. The VCSO investigation began after the victim reported the incident to a friend the following day. The friend then told the victim's mother and the mother assisted the girl with reporting the allegations to authorities. Detectives were able to recover several items listed in a search warrant of the residence and the two suspects were taken in for questioning before being booked into the jail. Both suspects reportedly denied the sexual allegations. However, they admitted to smoking marijuana and meth. David reportedly admitted to "sometimes" engaging in threesomes with other people. The suspects remain held in the jail, each with a $50,000 bond, no 10 percent allowed. They are scheduled to appear in Div. 3 Superior Court May 29/ The Department of Child Services assisted in the investigation. Comments are closed.
