Indiana Central News Vigo County and surrounding areas are under Wind Advisory, in effect from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m today. Emergency crews have responded to several incidents due to strong wind, including fallen trees and limbs, structure damage and downed power lines. "With power outages scattered around central Indiana due to strong winds, this is a good reminder: NEVER go near a downed line. Assume it is live and keep kids and pets away until crews can make the area safe," officials at the National Weather Service in Indianapolis advise. Duke Energy and the Terre Haute Fire Department responded to fallen trees and power lines at residences located on Harrison Avenue and Buckeye Street around 5:30. No injuries were reported. With wind gusts around 45 mph at times, unsecured objects were tossed around all over Terre Haute. Driving was difficult along many roadways from debris blown into streets. RUSH The high temperature for the day locally reached about 60 degrees. A low of about 43 degrees was recorded in the morning. The National Weather Service says scattered storms can be expected.
