![]() Members of the Terre Haute Police Department were sent to the Starbucks at 4900 S US 41 on the report of an intoxicated driver in the drive-thru around 5 p.m. yesterday, according to Sgt. Michael Ellerman. Brittany N. Wallace, 30, of Terre Haute, is charged with felony operating a vehicle while intoxicated and felony neglect of a dependent. She is being held in the Vigo Co. Jail until her court appearance on Monday, May 9 in Division 5 Court. "Officers also noticed that Brittany had a dependent child in the vehicle with her at the time of this offense. Officers contacted the Department of Child Services, who later released the child to her father," Ellerman said. The suspect reportedly struck a curb and had very slurred speech. Ellerman explained that concerned staff members at Starbucks told the driver that she had to wait for them to make her drink, while officers responded. Officers conducted an investigation, which included sobriety tests, and determined that Brittany was operating her vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicating substance. Comments are closed.
