Indiana Central News A Terre Haute woman is in jail after allegedly stabbing her husband in the stomach and fleeing the scene following an argument at their northisde residence early yesterday morning. Talisha J. Crane, 38, was booked into the Vigo County Jail around 8:20 a.m.. She is charged with Level 3 felony aggravated battery and Level 5 domestic battery resulting in serious bodily injury. Her husband suffered serious injuries. In fact, later on at the hospital, a surgeon told officers the victim would need surgery -- due to one of the stabs wounds hitting an internal organ, according to court documents. According to the probable cause affidavit, filed by Detective Keith Mowbray, of the Terre Haute Police Department, the victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for his stab wounds after emergency crews responded to the 2000 block of Fifth Avenue around 1:10 a.m. The fight reportedly started when the woman returned home after being at a nearby motel, the Red Carpet Inn. Her husband alleges she has been having a sexual affair with another man and was known to stay there often. When her son picked her up at the motel and dropped her back off at home, the suspect blamed her husband for her actions with other men, including sending nude photos, according to the court documents. She was confrontational with her husband, yelling at him about not giving her enough attention, as he sat in a recliner. She allegedly went into the kitchen and grabbed a knife with a black handle. The victim responded by standing up at this time. He told police he grabbed one of his knives that was near him in the chair. Talisha allegedly stabbed him twice in the left side of his abdomen and and he could see blood on his shirt. He dropped his knife. Talisha fled out the back door while her husband called 911. Meanwhile, a nurse reportedly found a small baggie with a crystal substance in it, while treating the victim's injuries. Talisha's husband told police he had forgotten about it and alleges his wife's boyfriend had sold it to him earlier, when he admitted he tried meth for the first time. Officers located Talisha a short time later, back at the property. She reportedly told investigators she was angry when her husband wouldn't pick her up at the motel and she had to instead call her son for a ride. Crane remains held in the jail. Her initial court appearance is scheduled for tomorrow in Vigo Superior Court Div. 1. Comments are closed.
